Open the access door on your remote control which lets you get to the AAA battery and the access switch. Push down the access switch until the red LED lights up and stays on. The LED light on the remote will blink and press the button on the remote that you want to program. The LED light will go steady and you need to press again the program button on the remote to lock it in.
You can then test the garage door remote to ensure that you’ve programmed the remote properly. If your garage door opener does not respond, then you might need to reprogram your remote.
Steps in Installing Your LiftMaster 895MAX
To program your remote, push the learn button on your garage door opener. Then, push the program button on your remote with a pin for the LED lights to come on. Press the button on the remote that you want to program with your garage door opener. By this time, the light starts blinking. Continue pushing that same button until the light on your garage door opener blinks on and off. Press another button on your LiftMaster 895MAX remote to lock the programming in.
You can now test your remote control to ensure that you’ve properly paired your remote with your garage door opener. Reprogram your garage door remote if your opener does not respond.
